Make sure important Business Power Tools email reaches you.

Make sure that Business Power Tools emails get past your spam and junk-mail filters and land in your “In” box.
(We’ll keep the promos to a minimum, but you’ll want to get the Business Black Belt newsletter as well as any technical tips we send.)
Here are our “white-listing” tips for AOL, Gmail, Hotmail, Outlook, Thunderbird, and Yahoo!

 


 

AOL

Please add our From addresses, ‘[email protected]’ & ‘[email protected]’, to your AOL address book:

  • Click the Mail menu and select Address Book.
  • Wait for the “Address Book” window to pop up, then click the Add button.
  • Wait for the “Address Card for New Contact” window to load.
  • Paste ‘[email protected]’ as well as ‘[email protected]’ into the Other E-Mail field.
  • Make our From address the “Primary E-Mail” address by checking the associated check box.
  • Click the Save button.

Current Subscriber:

If our newsletter is in your AOL Spam Folder, please open the issue and then click the This Is Not Spam button.
Next, please add our email addresses, ‘[email protected]’ & ‘[email protected]’ onto your Address Book as described above.

 


 

Gmail

If your receipt arrives in your “Promotion” Tab, simply “right click” on it, select “Move To” and then select the “Primary” option.

  • How to check if our newsletter is in the “spam” folder:
  • Click Spam along the left side of any Gmail page.
  • Check mark the box next to our newsletter.
  • Click Not Spam button along the top.

 


 

Hotmail Live, Windows Live and MSN.com

In the new Hotmail you must “Mark sender as safe” to enable hyperlinks even in text emails and images in HTML emails.

To ensure messages from specific email addresses are not sent to your Junk Email folder, you can do one of two things:

  1. Check the “Junk” folder if you do not see the in your inbox
  2. Click the “Mark as safe” link
  3. Add to your Safe List

New Subscriber:

  • You will need to add our From addresses, ‘[email protected]’ & ‘[email protected]’, to your Hotmail Safe List:
  • Open your mailbox and click “Options” (upper right hand corner).
  • Click the “Junk E-Mail Protection” link (top of page).
  • Select the “Safe List” link (2nd from bottom).
  • Copy and paste ‘[email protected]’ & ‘[email protected]’ into the dialog box titled “Type an address or domain”.
  • Click the “Add” button next to the dialog box.

Current Subscriber:

  • If our newsletter is in your Junk E-Mail Folder, open the issue and click the Not Junk button.
  • Next, check to see if our email address is in your Blocked Senders list.
  • If you see ‘[email protected]’ or ‘[email protected]’ on this list, select them both and click the Remove button.
  • Finally, if you have not done so, add our From addresses, ‘[email protected]’ & ‘[email protected]’ into your Safe List as outlined above.

Mark Sender as Safe

Attachments, pictures, and links in this message have been blocked for your safety. Show content:

  1. Click “Show content” to view the body of the email if it contains images and HTML
  2. Click “Mark as safe”

Manually Add to Safe List

  1. Click “Options” in the upper right corner of your Hotmail screen
  2. In the Body of the page under “Junk e-mail” click the link “Safe and blocked senders”
  3. Click the link “Safe senders”
  4. Enter the email address “”
  5. Click “Add to list”

 


 

Mozilla Thunderbird

New Subscriber:

You will need to add our From addresses, ‘[email protected]’ & ‘[email protected]’, to your Thunderbird Address Book and configure your Junk Mail Controls to white list your address book.

  • Click the Address Book button.
  • Make sure the Personal Address Book is highlighted.
  • Click the New Card button. This will launch a New Card window that has 3 tabs: Contact, Address & Other.
  • Under the Contact tab, copy and paste our From addresses, ‘[email protected]’ & ‘[email protected]’ into the Email dialog box.
  • Click OK.

 


 

Outlook

Add BusinessPowerTools’ “From” addresses, ‘[email protected]’ & ‘[email protected]’, to your Safe Senders list:

  • On the Tools menu, click Options.
  • On the Preferences tab, click Junk E-mail.
  • On the Safe Senders tab, click Add.
  • In the Add address, put ‘[email protected]’ as well as ‘[email protected]
  • Click OK.

 


 

Yahoo!

New Subscriber:

You will need to set up a filter to redirect our newsletter into your inbox

  • Open your mailbox and click on Mail Options (upper right hand corner).
  • Select Filters (bottom left corner).
  • Click the Add link on the Filters page.
  • Update the “From header:” rule with the following 2 pieces of information: “contains” and ‘[email protected]’ as well as ‘[email protected]’.
    (This tells Yahoo to identify our newsletter based on its From address.)
  • Click the Choose Folder pull down menu and select inbox.
  • Click the Add Filter button.

Current Subscriber:

  • If our newsletter is getting stuck in your Yahoo Bulk Folder, please open the issue and click the Not Spam button.
  • Next, check to see if the newsletter’s email address is in your “Blocked Addresses” list.
  • If you see ‘[email protected]’ or ‘[email protected]’ on this list, select them and click the Remove Block button.
  • Lastly, please set up a filter as outlined above.

 


 

Whitelist your Personal Address Book:

  • From the main drop down menu, select Tools – Junk Mail Controls…
  • This will launch the Junk Mail Controls window that has two tabs: Settings and Adaptive Filter
  • Under the Settings tab, update the “White Lists” module by selecting Personal Address Book from the pull down menu and then check mark the box next to Do not mark messages as junk mail.
  • Click OK.

Current Subscriber

  • Please check your Junk folder to see our newsletter have been mistakenly placed there.
  • To prevent this from happening in the future, you need to mark our newsletter as not junk.
  • Do this by Right-clicking on our newsletter and choose Mark – As Not Junk.
